The village Oberau is about 6 km away from the town of Berchtesgaden and offers a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. The touristic sights Bad Reichenhall, Kehlstein (Eagle’s Nest), Königssee and Salzburg are all within easy reach of Oberau. Our own bus operator can assist you in working out trips.
For skiers there is in the direct vicinity the winter the ski area of Roßfeld -Oberau – Zinken. For beginners and learners there are ski schools as well as a beginners slope directly in front of the guesthouse.
You could also spend time during your winter holiday on the bob slides or just relax enjoying the winter landscape and stroll around.
The Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus)
The Eagle’s Nest was a project of Martin Boorman’s and given to Adolf Hitler for his 50th birthday on behalf of the NSDAP.
The Eagle’s Nest remained unscathed from the bombing of the allied forces during World War II. Since 1960, the Eagle’s Next has been administrated by the Tourist Office of Berchtesgadener Land and leased out as a mountain top restaurant.
